Claire Eamer is a full-time professional writer. She currently has six published non-fiction books to her credit, five for children and one for adults. A sixth children’s non-fiction book is scheduled for release in fall 2013. Her books for children have won or been shortlisted for a number of Canadian and international awards.
Claire also writes fiction and has had stories published in the Young Adult science fiction and fantasy anthologies Tesseracts Fifteen: A Case of Quite Curious Tales and Polaris: A Celebration of Polar Science. Both anthologies were finalists for Prix Aurora Awards, and Polaris won the 2007 Science in Society Youth Book Award. She is currently working on a comic fantasy novel for middle grades, as well as several short stories.
In addition, Claire is a freelance writer and editor of science-based reports and publications, mainly for various levels of government and a number of international agencies.
